Daily art 🎨 last few days

Gesture – 30 seconds, 1 minute, untimed.
Gestures, focusing on flow.
First big work, linework finished. The best skill I’ve got right now.

This article was a breakthrough moment.

Apocalypse, told in ivy. The rest.

IX. Reaching.

Two ivy branches meet against a white wall. The branch on the right ends in many twigs, like multiple hands stretching toward the left. The branch on the left is elegantly curled with a few branches at its end, like a hand opened to receive.

VII, cont’d. Hamadryad.

A bare, brown vine with a trunk thick like a tree. Dark green leaves from another plant surround the base of the trunk, which is twisted and seamed like a gaunt body. The crown of the trunk splits into branches stretching left and right like arms raised in a dance -- or raised to conceal the dryad's face.

+++

X. Palimpsest.
Do these new vines remember the ones that have gone before?

Two tendrils of ivy reach across a pristine, white wall. One tendril begins from the base of the frame and angles up and left; the other moves directly across the frame from right to left. They are covered in heart-shaped leaves geometrically aligned, in a graduation from dark green to the palest greenish-yellow at the tips of the growing tendril. They snake over a palimpsest: faint, brown marks scored into the white wall in the rough shape of a trunk and branches. Another vine once grew here, and is now gone, only leaving a palimpsest of its former existence.

+++

XI. Fingerprints, grappling hooks.

A thin, bare branch of ivy crosses a white, stuccoed wall from lower right to upper left. It is attached to the wall by delicate tendrils ending in 'suckers' that look just like the tips of tiny fingers.

A close-up of the 'suckers' of an ivy branch. The white wall is criss-crossed with thin, delicate, bare branches. One of them has trapped a hapless brown leaf against the wall.

All around this branch are the imprints of 'suckers' from other branches that are now long gone.

Apocalypse, told in ivy. VIII. Entwined, cont’d.

A thick trunk of ivy snakes horizontally along a wall. Smaller branches entwine around it.
